At HAMMR (referred to as “HAMMR,” “our,” “us,” or “we”), safeguarding your privacy is of utmost importance. HAMMR is a field-log app for handymen and independent contractors — it tracks jobs, time, mileage, materials, photos, signatures, invoices, and payments so you can run your business from the job site. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information we obtain from users of our mobile application (the “App”). This policy applies solely to the information you provide through the App. The copyright of this agreement is owned by the operator of HAMMR, who reserves the right to interpret and amend it at any time.
HAMMR is offline-first: everything you log — jobs, clients, hours, mileage, materials, photos, signatures, invoices, and estimates — is stored locally on your device by default. Nothing leaves your device unless you sign in and turn on Cloud Sync (a HAMMR Pro feature), or you choose to export or share something yourself (e.g. sending an invoice PDF). We do not show ads, use advertising SDKs, or sell your data to anyone.
To provide the App’s core functionality, HAMMR stores the records you create while logging your work, entirely on your device unless Cloud Sync is enabled:
Payment method details you configure: In Settings, you may enter your own Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App handles, or check-payment instructions, so they can be printed on invoices for your clients to pay you directly. HAMMR does not process, transmit, or handle any money transfer itself — these fields are stored like any other invoice content and are never validated, charged, or shared with a payment processor by us.
If you enable GPS in Settings, HAMMR requests your device’s location only at the moment you clock in to a job, to pin your approximate coordinates as on-site proof on the invoice. We do not track your location in the background or at any other time. You can disable this at any time in Settings or by denying/revoking the location permission in your device settings; the App will continue to work normally without it.
HAMMR requests access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to attach a material receipt or a job-site photo. We only access the specific photo you take or select — the App does not scan or upload your broader photo library.
To provide the full functionality of the App, HAMMR may use the following native device features:
Camera / Photo Library: to attach receipt and job-site photos, as described above.
Location (When In Use): to pin your job-site location at clock-in, as described above.
Phone Dialer: tapping a client’s phone number opens your device’s native dialer with the number pre-filled; HAMMR does not place calls itself or record call data.
Maps: tapping a job or client address opens your device’s default maps app with the address pre-filled; we do not track your navigation.
System Sharing: invoice/estimate PDFs and CSV exports are handed to your device’s native share sheet (e.g. Mail, Messages, AirDrop) so you can send them yourself. HAMMR does not have access to what you do after the share sheet opens.
Lock-Screen Live Activity (iOS): while a job clock is running, HAMMR may display the elapsed time on your lock screen via iOS Live Activities. This only shows the timer already visible in the App and collects no additional data.
Cloud Sync is optional and available only to HAMMR Pro subscribers. If you choose to sign in:
If you never sign in, or aren’t subscribed to HAMMR Pro, none of your data leaves your device except when you explicitly export or share it yourself.
HAMMR Pro (a monthly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase) is sold and billed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see, collect, or store your payment card or billing details. After a purchase, our backend receives a purchase receipt from the App Store/Play Store, which it verifies with Apple/Google to confirm your entitlement — this receipt is used only to unlock HAMMR Pro for your account.
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it. This may include:
We do not show advertisements, use advertising SDKs, collect an advertising identifier, or share analytics data with ad networks. Analytics data is not linked to your name, client data, or job content.
Our backend (an HTTPS API) automatically logs technical details needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, request timestamps, and error information. This is used to operate, debug, and protect the service, and is not linked to job or client content beyond what is necessary to serve your sync request.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
Service Providers: We use a small number of infrastructure providers to operate the App — Amazon Web Services (cloud backend and encrypted file storage for Cloud Sync), Google Firebase (analytics), and Apple / Google (sign-in and in-app purchase processing). These providers process data only on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments.
Your Own Clients: Information you choose to put on an invoice or estimate (your business details, payment handles, the client’s name/address, and the amount owed) is visible to whoever you send or share that PDF with — that sharing is controlled entirely by you.
Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights, or ensure the safety of our users.
Business Transfers: If HAMMR is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information we hold may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Local data is stored in your device’s app-sandboxed storage; your account token is stored using your platform’s secure storage (e.g. iOS Keychain). Cloud Sync traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and photo uploads/downloads use short-lived, single-use signed links rather than public URLs. No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data you enter is retained on your device until you delete it or reset the App. If you use Cloud Sync, synced data is retained on our servers until you delete the corresponding records, request account deletion, or your HAMMR Pro subscription lapses and you choose not to renew Cloud Sync access.
If you use Cloud Sync, your information is transferred to and processed on servers operated in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
HAMMR is a business tool intended for tradespeople and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
The App may open external links (e.g. maps, your device’s dialer, or the App Store) using your device’s native handlers. Those destinations are governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
